Luis Fernando Tena Garduño (born January 20, 1958 in Mexico City) is a Mexican football manager and former player. Tena is the assistant manager of José Manuel de la Torre for Mexico and will coach the team in the 2011 Copa América.

Coaching career

Most recently, he was the manager of Club América, the Mexico City squad who participate in the Mexican First Division. As a manager, Tena has obtained two titles: with Cruz Azul in 1997 (the last Mexican league title that Cruz Azul has won) and in 2000 with Morelia.

After retiring as a player, Tena began his coaching career in 1994 with Cruz Azul, a squad which he has guided on three separate occasions. Aside from his aforementioned stints at Cruz Azul and Morelia, Tena has coached Santos Laguna, Jaguares de Chiapas and Tecos UAG. His brother, Alfredo Tena, a former Club América player and manager, served as an assistant coach for Luis. On March 16, 2008 Tena was named the new coach of Monarcas Morelia, he was fired on 20 February 2009 and was later named as the Head Coach from Jaguares de Chiapas on 6 May 2009.

After a slow start to the Primera División de México Bicentenario 2010 campaign, Tena was later let go from his head coach position from Chiapas in early January, 2010.
